happy day #23

That’s new years eve to our non-Scottish readers.. and I think all two of you qualify 😀 I’ve always kinda loved the idea that all across the world as the clock chimes in the new year, people of all sorts and colours and sock philosophies (with sandals? without?) link arms and sing a wee ditty written by a wee scots man centuries ago.

And I happen to love the song – its worth finding out the other verses (he was something of a poet as well…) This is the original melody it was set to sung by a Scottish couple (and made famous in a big movie) and it’s beautiful.. Enjoy and lang may yer lum reek.. 😀
